I mentioned in my last blog that in early September I was given medical clearance to travel again. As you can guess, I found myself in New York a week or so after getting this wonderful news. It was Vi’s birthday, the bus tickets were cheap, and it was 2 for 1 ticket week on Broadway. The decision was practically made for me!
September has been good so far.

I’ve officially been home 4 months now and am getting restless. It has without a doubt been the longest 4 months of my life. I can’t work much, can’t travel much. Really, I can’t do much of anything. I’ve been applying to internships that I can’t accept, planning trips I can’t take, and generally spending far too much time getting frustrated with the current state of my life. And the most frustrating bit is that there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it.
As you know (unless you’ve been living under a rock), earlier this week something amazing went down in Texas. Senator Wendy Davis headed a 13 hour filibuster in the Texas State House to prevent the exceedingly anti-choice SB5 bill from being passed.
I can’t believe it’s almost the end of June. Seriously, when did that happen?!
As I haven’t really spoken to a lot of folks in the last couple months, I thought I’d go ahead and give some updates, should anyone care (and, really, don’t feel bad if you don’t):
I was in New York City this week for about 45 hours. It was probably the least interesting trip I’ve ever taken in the sense that I did almost nothing. But, you know? It was a much needed couple days away.
I’m finally getting around to posting photos from before I left London. I haven’t had time to edit most of them due to life chaos, but oh well.
I spent this past weekend in Scranton for The Office Wrap Party, and have been debating whether or not to do a blog about the experience. I did a small post halfway through the event in an attempt to “blog out” some anger, so I now feel it necessary to give a more complete review. There were definitely some good parts and I really want to share those too! So, I’m going to go ahead and give a full recap of the entire adventure.
Today I am launching a new section to my blog: Spencer Rants, or “SR” for short.
I am incredibly opinionated on a lot of things, but generally keep my thoughts to myself. Well, no more. I have very strong views on a lot things and it’s time for me to tell the world (or, you know, the 6 people who read my blog) about them.
Today’s topic? Sexual Assault.
As I mentioned in my last blog Amy, Tasha, Michelle and I headed to Poland a few days ago. We had a really good time, and were able to do quite a bit of sightseeing in just a couple of days.
I’m going to write a post on our actual time in the city in the next few days, but today wanted to do something separate on the tour we took of Auschwitz.
